Developing Empathy for the Light

I learned to think about direction, quality, and color of light. Now I will learn to think about the emotion of light.

It’s been about two weeks since I asked the question, “What does the light feel?” I’ve made very few photos since. Turns out it’s a lot harder to answer that question than to ask it.

I’m not going to over-think it. I’m going to look, look again, and shoot.

For this quest to work, I'll need to keep a camera ready for when the light surprises me.

I don’t know what I’m going to learn from this, or if I’ll make better or worse photos, but I’m really feeling driven to change, so I’m going to roll with it and see what happens. That’s an advantage to being an amateur!
