I spent last week shooting all day, every day at the Orfalea Foundation School Food Initiative’s Culinary Boot Camp, with the express intent to document the proceedings. Some of the results can be seen here.
Today I carried a camera to dinner with the express desire to NOT document, but to make something personal and almost abstract. I chose the 35mm f/2.o lens, mainly because it is compact, lightweight, and versatile. I made a couple of pictures of my wine glass, and then pumped up the color in post. The post-processing may catch one’s eye, but I have to say that every time I go out with the 35, it surprises me with its quality. More technically-minded people criticize its edge sharpness and other factors, but I only know that I usually like the images I make with it.
