Perhaps next week I’ll take some real photos of my camera bag collection, but for now, here’s a bag from Tamrac that assuages my anxiety over traveling light and missing opportunities. This shoulder bag (Tamrac Rally 7, or model 3447) is my choice for this weekend’s family visits. You cannot tell from the photo, but it’s carrying a laptop computer, a Nikon D7000, a 17-55 lens, a 70-200 lens, an 11-16 lens, a 1.7x teleconverter, and an SB-800 flash, not to mention power supplies, extra batteries, a cleaning kit, and some file folders.
Yes, I’ve traveled to major cities with nothing but a 50mm lens, but there are times when I want to be prepared for almost anything. Much as I love my fast prime lenses, this little collection of zooms gives me 11-340ish millimeters, and that’s quite a range. The bag’s shoulder strap has a BIG padded area. While I wouldn’t want to take a very long walk with this bag this full, it’s an excellent way to easily transport this amount of gear. Hope I take some pictures this weekend!
