Goofing Off at the Right Time

I read an article in Nikon World about a fellow that only shoots natural light photos during the last hour of the day. Sure, I get the whole “magic hour” thing, but I take pictures when I feel like it, dang it, and besides,  I take my daily walk in the morning – and not at the crack of dawn either.  But this evening my son and I were over-caffeinated, so we decided to take a walk right around sunset. I threw the D7000 with the 50 f/1.8 over my shoulder, just for the heck of it.

Before we left our street, I saw this.

By the time we reached the next street, I understood the fellow's reason for only shooting during the last hour of the day. It's kinda pretty. It doesn't hurt to live in Ojai, with our famous "pink moment."
