In the previous post, I mentioned that I might take a macro lens as my walk-around lens the next day. I did. The Nikon 105 f/2.8 Micro is a very nice medium telephoto as well as a macro lens. Here are a couple of shots from that walk.
I'm working on a series about "bits of Ojai" and I liked this wall's texture and shadows. The 105 f/2.8 Micro provides excellent sharpness and contrast.
Naturally, the advantage of carrying a macro lens is that you can take close-up pictures of small things. Actually, this spider wasn't all that small. I really like macros for walk-around duty because of their focus-distance versatility.
