Sketching A Work in Progress, Part 1

Yesterday I showed this quick sketch of an idea. We're thinking through some ideas for a CD cover for a renaissance a cappella singing group. As I mentioned, I wanted to try the concept again under more even light.

This morning was beautifully overcast, so we tried another sketch. We're encouraged, and now we know that the image will be helped by putting a man in the background as an object of her peeking. We'll also switch to a wide-angle lens to bring her more powerfully into the foreground while pushing the background farther back.

We'll also continue to experiment with desaturation, vignetting, selective blurring, and other software tools. Stay tuned for the evolution of an idea into an image...
